Prince William to take part in historic event for the King

The Prince of Wales will represent The King at an event that has
been centuries in the making.

On March 25 2026, Prince William will travel to Canterbury
Cathedral where he will take part in the ceremony marking the
Installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury.

Dame Sarah Mullally is the first woman to hold the role and lead
the Church of England.

Just days after her official confirmation in the role, at St.
Paul’s Cathedral, the new Archbishop paid homage to King Charles
who is Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

Prince William, who will become Supreme Governor when he takes
the throne in time, met the new Archbishop the following day.

The Prince
and Princess of Wales travelled to Lambeth Palace to meet Dame
Sarah who welcomed them to her new official residence and home.

During their meeting, William and Kate discussed the role that
churches around the country play in their local communities.

As the couple toured Lambeth Palace, and signed a very ornate
page in the visitors’ book, it was announced that Prince William
would represent The King at the Installation of Dame Sarah as
Archbishop of Canterbury.

The service takes place on the Feast of the Annunciation, March
25.

Dame Sarah was confirmed as Archbishop of Canterbury at St.
Paul’s Cathedral on January 28 2026 and paid homage to King Charles
at Buckingham Palace on February 4 2026.
