Aaron Phypers, ex-husband of Denise Richards, was reportedly arrested in court on October 17. According to “Page Six,” Phypers was detained on charges of spousal abuse. An attorney for Phypers told TMZ he was arrested on an outstanding warrant related to Richards’s abuse allegations. Richards accused her estranged husband of physical abuse in a restraining-order request in July. “Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me,” she stated in court docs. The filing also included pictures of Richards with a black eye.
Phypers was in court refuting Richards’s testimony that he had been violent with her on multiple occasions, including a January 2022 incident that left Richards with the black eye. Phypers agreed with his attorney that Richards “bruises easily.” He claimed Richards would “bruise herself while cooking” or “falling down.” Richards is seeking to make her temporary restraining order against Phypers permanent.
