Whoopi Goldberg struggles to sit at “The View” table during painful discussion: ‘I’m out’
Whoopi Goldberg might be able to channel ghostly entities from regions beyond, but she fully lost contact with consciousness on Thursday’s episode of The View.
During an apparently agonizing Hot Topics discussion about Norwegian biathlete Sturla Holm Lægreid’s affair confession minutes after winning a bronze medal at the Winter Olympics on Tuesday, the 70-year-old Oscar-winning actress struggled to sit upright — and even remain at the table at all — throughout the conversation.
“Stay with me on this,” Goldberg said at the top of the segment, making it clear that she had no interest in covering the news. “I’m confused by all of this,” she said while attempting to summarize the events for her audience.
“The main thing, Whoopi, he’s with the girl six months and he’s cheating on her already,” Joy Behar chimed in, while Goldberg shook her head in disgust and put her forehead in her palm while her colleagues took the reins.

“You guys, these men are not hot, they’re in Norway, not Cuba,” Ana Navarro said, livening the mood. “They’re just cold!”
She later turned toward Goldberg as the cohosts debated the topic, urging, “Stay with us, Whoopi! Stay with us!” as Goldberg’s head lowered toward the table.
Sara Haines observed that “it would be a bigger deal if he’d been with her for years” instead of a few short months, while Sunny Hostin maintained, “He loves her! On the world stage, he apologized for his behavior!”

At this point, Goldberg feigned losing grip on her sanity, as she attempted to get up from the table to relieve herself from the torture. She turned around several times during the discussion, and went to stand up from her seat in the process as she said, “I’m out” to an off-camera crew member, to which the audience responded in a fit of laughter.
“Whoopi, you’re excused. You’re excused from this conversation. Take a nap,” Behar said, laughing.
“Please, yes,” Goldberg told the panelist, before cutting the whole discussion off altogether as she sent the show to a commercial break: “You know what? I’ll get this all straightened out. We’ll be right back.”

While Thursday’s developments saw Goldberg in a state of despair over the boring subject, they did not push her to perform a Full Goldberg Collapse™, as she’s typically done during similarly boring conversations in the past.
Prior moments that saw Goldberg pass out at The View table included the cohosts breaking down headlines about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Donald Trump, the Real Housewives franchise, and even in honor of Entertainment Weekly‘s coverage of her ongoing collapses.
The View airs weekdays on ABC.
