UFC Mexico live results: Brandon Moreno vs. Lone’er Kavanagh updates, round-by-round scoring, highlights
Uncrowned has UFC Mexico live results, round-by-round updates, start time and highlights for the Brandon Moreno vs. Lone’er Kavanagh fight card on Saturday night at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. Former two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and English up-and-comer Lone’er Kavanagh collide in the night’s five-round main event.
Moreno (23-9-2) makes a quick turnaround after suffering a second-round knockout defeat at the hands of Tatsuro Taira this past December. The setback spoiled a recent return to form for the 32-year-old former champ, who’d previously picked up back-to-back victories over contenders Amir Albazi and Steve Erceg following a brief hiatus from the sport. Moreno was originally scheduled to face Asu Almabayev in the main event of UFC Mexico, however Almabayev withdrew due to a hand injury.

Kavanagh (9-1) instead steps into the biggest — and most surprising — opportunity of his career against one of the division’s longtime stalwarts. A 26-year-old London product, Kavanagh notched decision wins over Jose Ochoa and Felipe dos Santos upon his UFC arrival, only to fall victim to a second-round knockout loss to Charles Johnson at UFC Shanghai this past August. Despite that result, Kavanagh could shortcut the line straight to flyweight contendership if he upsets Moreno on Saturday.
In the evening’s co-main event, one-time UFC title challenger Marlon “Chito” Vera (23-11-1) looks to snap his worst career slump when he takes up rising bantamweight prospect David Martinez (13-1).

A pretty interesting second round was highlighted by an atrocious referee stand-up when Perez was on top in a dominant position. She quickly brought the fight back to the mat, likely tying this fight up going into the third frame.

Tarin isn’t showing any signs of UFC jitters. Her striking is crisp, and she won Round 1. Round 2? A bit closer. Round 3 should continue the violence.
