So, now that we’ve all had a solid couple of weekends to really get stuck in, what do we actually think of Battlefield 6? Is it really the return to form that EA’s series has needed? Or is it a little overrated?
The shooter’s been on the receiving end of many positive reviews, both from critics and players. Hell, it’s got over 50,000 user reviews on Steam at the time of writing, and it’s sitting at a ‘Very Positive’ rating. It doesn’t really get much better than that for a franchise as big as this one.
Battlefield 6 also been a commercial blockbuster, breaking sales records and selling over 7 million copies in its first three days on the market. Mental.
Is it truly worthy of such widespread success, though? Well, we gave it a ‘great’ 8/10 in our Battlefield 6 PS5 review, which called the game “the best Battlefield in over a decade”.
Okay, so that’s not a particularly high bar, but we still fell in love with its multiplayer offering (the single player campaign left us rather bored).
“Battlefield 6 is a phenomenal multiplayer experience that immerses and impresses with its chaotic mix of tight gunplay, best-in-class audio design, and the cinematic flair that made us love the series in the first place,” we wrote.
