Chiefs News 3/4: A Trent McDuffie trade doesn’t make sense for Rams
“Vikings are now open to trading Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, per sources. They would like to keep Greenard, but they also have salary cap issues they’re working through that have led to these trade conversations,” Schefter said.
If the Vikings decide to move Greenard, the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, and Kansas City Chiefs would be ideal trade partners.
Joey Bosa is set to hit free agency, so trading for Greenard to replace him would be a savvy move. The 28-year-old had a down year in 2025 with just three sacks, but he had 12 sacks in 2023 and 2024 and is a dynamic pass rusher when healthy.
San Francisco’s pass rush was lackluster in 2025, especially after Joey Bosa went out for the year in Week 2 due to a torn ACL. Acquiring Greenard to pair with Nick Bosa would give the 49ers an electric edge rusher duo.
Kansas City released Mike Danna last week and needs to revamp their pass rush. Greenard would be a nice fit on Steve Spagnuolo’s defense and would provide some juice to the defensive line.
