Miley Cyrus has written an original song with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt for the upcoming Avatar: Fire And Ash.
The third film in James Cameron’s franchise hits theaters December 19. In a post on Instagram, Cyrus drew a connection to losing the house she owned with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth in the 2018 Woolsey Fire in Malibu weeks before their wedding.
“Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me,” Cyrus wrote. “Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine. The film’s themes of unity, healing, and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”
In an interview with CR Fashion Book, Cyrus told The Last Showgirl star Pamela Anderson that after five years of rebuilding, the house is almost ready for her return.
This is not the first original song contributed to an Avatar film. The Weeknd wrote “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” for Avatar: The Way of Water, which arrived in theaters in 2022.
Cyrus released her newest album Something Beautiful on May 30, 2025. Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful, the visual companion to the album, premiered June 6 at the Tribeca Festival before its one-night theatrical release June 12 in the U.S. and Canada. The visual companion is now streaming on Disney.+ and Hulu as of July 16. She also cowrote “Beautiful That Way” for The Last Showgirl with Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt.
