Raiders Host Shares Message Maxx Crosby Sent Him After Trade Fell Through

After the trade fell through with the Baltimore Ravens last week, Maxx Crosby is back in Las Vegas and, for now, it looks like he is back to being a part of the Raiders’ long-term plan.

Trade rumors around Crosby are bound to resurface as the draft gets closer, but it does seem like his mindset has changed since a week ago.

In recent days, Crosby hasn’t been sounding like a player standing on a trade request and Raider Nation Radio host ‘JT the Brick’ shared a message he received from the All-Pro pass rusher following the Ravens’ decision to back out of the trade.

“By no means am I saying it’s a done deal with Maxx, and Maxx left me a very detailed voice message,” JT said on his Raider Nation Radio show.

“[It was] very detailed about his return and a lot of it has to do with God, his faith, and what’s in front of him, and I know what’s in front of him. If Maxx is left to play for the Raiders, we are going to get one hell of a player.”

JT went on to talk about Crosby’s health, and he believes the outlook is encouraging on Crosby’s surgically repaired knee.

“For some reason, there’s a few people that think, for whatever reason, Maxx Crosby is not the player that he was,” JT continued.

“How dare you? How dare you? Did you see him play last year with his stats on the worst team in football? The worst team in football. The Raiders were the worst team in football. Worst coach team in football. Worst team in the league. And the way Maxx played, and now some people are saying, ‘Well, he might not be the guy. He’s not damaged goods.’ It’s a basic surgery he’ll recover from. He’ll be fine. He’s a great player in the prime of his career.”

Crosby hasn’t talked a lot about his knee, but he shared a message with former Raiders’ defensive tackle Gerald McCoy last week that should come as an encouragement to everyone with a rooting interest in Crosby and the Raiders.

“I told Maxx, I said ‘You know what, I’m going on TV and I’m going to have to talk about you. Is there a message you want me to get across or do you want me to just tell the truth? I said I could tell my truth which is I know who Maxx Crosby is as a human. I know who he is as a player,” McCoy said on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Friday.

“You know what Maxx said to me?” McCoy continued. He said, ‘The truth is by training camp I’m going to be 200 percent ready, and this world will get the best version of 98 they’ve ever seen.’”

“It’s go time. That is not from me. That is directly from Maxx Crosby. All you all that’s doing all the talking, the Ravens, everybody that has something to say, you all just woke up a sleeping giant. Dogs when you bite ’em, they tend to bite back and that’s what Maxx is going to do. I can’t wait.”
