It’s that time of the year again when our Lord and Savior, Gabe Newell, bestows upon us, mere gaming mortals, the best sales around the gaming world. In this list, I’ll make a roundup of several incredible strategy games under 10 dollars you have to buy during the Steam Spring Sale of 2026.
The Steam Easter Sale of 2026 started on the 19th of March, and it’s going to run until the 26th of March, so there’s a lot of time left. It’s best if you start making the most out of each deal if you want to stock up your library for the following months. 10 – 9 Kings
I love 9 Kings, and that came completely unexpected to me. When I started to review it, my expectations were, let’s say, rather low. Well, color me surprised when it quickly established itself as one of my favorite games of 2025, because of just how addictive its mix of auto-battler, deck-builder, and Into the Breach perfectly came together. Pick 1 of 9 available Kings, each with its deck and playstyle, and play round after round, adding new cards to your deck after each round, and survive for as long as possible. You do that by creating combos, placing cards in a 3X3 grid, where combo management, long-term strategy, and planning are essential if you want to beat the final boss (one of the other Kings).
9 – Thronefall
Look, we all need that strategy game that we can get in and get out of quickly. Be that because you just have a couple of minutes between lunch breaks and work, your kids are finally asleep, or simply because you have a 15-minute window to burn before you’ll eventually have to be a functioning adult again. Thronefall is a minimalist strategy game where players act as kings of a mini-kingdom, and during the day they’ll spend their time upgrading their domain, and at night have to engage in tower-defense-like battles against invading hordes of enemies. Each mission lasts only for a couple of minutes, and you’re quickly in and out of it. An amazing game for busy gamers.
8 – Dorfromantik
If Thronefall is perfect for days when you’re in a hurry, Dorfromantik is exactly the kind of title you need when you want to relax and enjoy a nice cup of hot coffee during a long, lazy afternoon. A tranquil strategy-puzzle game where you have to create beautiful countryside landscapes by placing hex-tiles, creating combos, and unlocking new biomes and tiles. A game for those times when you want something with no friction, that you can place at your own pace, and just want to enjoy a chill gaming session.
