Digimon Story: Time Stranger large-scale expansion DLC announced
Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision have announced a large-scale expansion downloadable content for Digimon Story: Time Stranger. It will launch in 2027.
Bandai Namco also announced the results of the 139th Digimon Referendum, a fan vote that answers the question, “Which Digimon would you like to train or hope to see play an active role in future Digimon games?” In this vote, user were able to chose one of 35 Digimon selected by management. The top 10 results are as follows:
- Gammamon
- Loogamon
- Kazemon
- Gumdramon
- Pulsemon
- Herissmon
- Terriermon Assistant
- Meicoomon
- Ludomon
- Gekkomon
Speaking on the expansion downloadable content, Digimon Story: Time Stranger producer Ryosuke Hara said, “We’re already in development, and while not everything from the Digi Referendum results we just announced will be making it in, after taking into consideration the world-building for this new expansion [downloadable content] and future Digimon games, we will be partially reflecting those results. As to what will get reflected, please look forward to follow-up announcements in the coming days.”
Hara continued, “It’s a bit far off, I know, but I can’t tell you just what kind of content it will be just yet. However, there is one thing I can share, and that’s that [Aegiomon voice actor Mutsumi] Tamura-san will be working hard with us again.”
Tsujimon, one of the hosts of today’s Digimon Con 2026 where this information was announced, asked Hara, “So the fact that Aegiomon will make an appearance means that from a story’s standpoint, it would have to be a parallel world, or in the future… I doubt you could answer us for that now, could you, Hara-san?”
To that, Hara answered, “What an excellent line of reasoning. A really excellent question! And that’s all I have to say.”
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, and is coming to Switch 2 and Switch on July 9 in Japan and July 10 worldwide.
