Uniqlo Returns To Mag Mile Friday With New Flagship Store
DOWNTOWN — Uniqlo’s new flagship store opens Friday on the Magnificent Mile, nearly five years after it left the corridor.
Uniqlo closed its 830 N. Michigan Ave. location in 2021, one of many retailers to leave the area in the aftermath of the pandemic. In 2025, the brand announced its comeback to the corridor with plans to open at 600 N. Michigan Ave. as part of an 11-store expansion in the United States.
After more than a year of anticipation, Uniqlo’s new Mag Mile location will open 10 a.m. Friday.
The store will offer special giveaways Friday-Sunday, according to Uniqlo’s website. The first 500 customers each day will receive a free custom Garrett Popcorn tin, popcorn, a pastry and tea from Ravenswood’s Del Sur Bakery. Shoppers who spend $99 or more in the store will also receive a free Chicago-themed tote bag.
Friday’s grand opening will feature traditional Japanese taiko drum performances at 9:50 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Customers will get early access to the Roger Federer Collection and discounts on other clothing items exclusive to the Mag Mile location. The store will feature exclusive merch inspired and created by local artists JC Rivera, Louis De Guzman, Elena Fiorenza, aplasticplant and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Uniqlo will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays.
