Former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson signs with New Orleans Saints – Deseret News
Zach Wilson is on the move again.
The former BYU quarterback is signing with the New Orleans Saints, according to a Tuesday report from Saints insider Nick Underhill.
The Saints will be Wilson’s third different team in the past three seasons, spending 2025 with the Miami Dolphins and 2024 in Denver with the Broncos.
Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, has not started a game since 2023, but did make 33 starts for the New York Jets across his first three professional campaigns.
In six brief appearances as Miami’s backup in 2025, Wilson completed 6 of 11 passes for 32 yards.
During his time with the Jets, Wilson threw for 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions while posting a 12-21 starting record. He has also ran for 499 yards and five touchdowns during his career.
At BYU from 2018-20, the Draper, Utah native and Corner Canyon High product passed for 7,652 yards with 71 total touchdowns, leading the Cougars to a 11-1 record and No. 11 final national ranking as a junior in 2020.
Wilson now joins a New Orleans quarterback room that includes second-year starter Tyler Shough, who proved impressive as a rookie, along with fellow backup Spencer Rattler.
