Jelly Roll somehow wins his first ever singles match in WWE
WWE booked a celebrity match on tonight’s (Mar. 27) episode of SmackDown between Grammy Award winner Jelly Roll and low card heel Kit Wilson. This was a highly anticipated wrestling match for some fans, and a complete waste of time for others.
Kit read a poem about his mom’s lack of sexual interest in Roll before the match, and then it was time to throw fists.
The bout lasted more than five minutes. Wilson avoided Jelly’s first attempt at a chokeslam, which surely would have ended the match. Babyface Roll was desperate enough to try using a foreign object (Kit’s poetry book) at one point, but Kit dodged it. Roll would not stay down for the three count when Wilson thought he had the match won. Jelly then caught him with another chokeslam attempt to score the pin fall victory.
Jelly lost his WWE debut match last year at SummerSlam, but that was a tag team match. This time it was one-on-one, and Roll proved to be a better pro wrestler than Wilson in picking up his first career win in WWE.
Was this celebrity match exactly what you thought it would be? Let me know in the comments below what you thought of Kitty vs. Jelly, and if you want to see more Roll matches in WWE, Cagesiders.
