Seattle Mariners Lineup: The look vs another Yankees LHP
For the third time in the Seattle Mariners’ first six games of the 2026 MLB season, they’re facing a left-handed starting pitcher on Tuesday night.

The New York Yankees (3-1) will send ace Max Fried out to the mound at T-Mobile Park for the 6:40 p.m. game, Mariners Radio Network coverage of which will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the pregame show on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app. It’s the second straight day that the M’s (3-2) will match up with a Yankees southpaw, but Seattle is rolling out a different lineup than it did for Monday’s 2-1 win.
Designated hitter Rob Refsnyder, regarded for his ability to hit lefty pitching, is back in the leadoff spot as he was in his team debut Saturday. Cal Raleigh, who didn’t start Monday after catching all four games of the opening series against Cleveland, has returned to the No. 2 spot in the order after he came off the bench and delivered the walk-off RBI single on Monday night.
Refsnyder, who signed with the Mariners in free agency after spending the previous four seasons in the American League East with the Boston Red Sox, is 2 for 10 with two walks in his career against Fried. He’s still looking for his first hit with Seattle, having gone 0 for 4 thus far in two games.
With Raleigh back in the lineup, the Mariners have lefty-hitting third baseman Brendan Donovan sixth in the order, which was also the case Saturday when Cleveland started left-hander Joey Cantillo against the M’s. Donovan, the big offseason trade acquisition, has hit leadoff in four of his five games for Seattle and is 8 for 18 (.444) with two home runs, a double and a 1.399 OPS to start his M’s career.

Fried, who threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings of two-hit ball in his first outing of the season last week, will match up against Mariners opening day starter Logan Gilbert, who allowed three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings to take the loss last Thursday against Cleveland.
