Iowa State All-American center Audi Crooks plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Iowa State center Audi Crooks plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, she announced on Thursday. She is coming off a career-best season for the Cyclones in 2025-26.
Crooks averaged a career-high 25.8 points to go with 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists this past season. She also earned AP Second Team All-American honors and is a three-time First Team All-Big 12 selection.
An Iowa native, Crooks played high school basketball at Algona (IA) Bishop Garrigan. That’s where she became Iowa Miss Basketball before her arrival at Iowa State in 2024. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Iowa State got off to a strong start to the 2025-26 season before an up-and-down go through Big 12 play. The Cyclones went 10-8 in conference action before making it to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 8 seed. They fell to Syracuse in the first round of the tournament.
After the game, Audi Crooks and teammate Jada Williams were both asked whether they would be back at Iowa State next season. Williams announced on March 25 that she planned to enter the portal. At the time, Crooks said she was still processing the season-ending loss and said her focus was on being there for her teammates.
“Yeah, we’re all still processing everything and just being there for each other right now is the priority,” Crooks said in the postgame press conference. “That’s the main thing, making sure everybody is mentally okay through this tough time.”
Crooks burst onto the college basketball scene in 2023-24 as a freshman and immediately became a key contributor at Iowa State. She averaged 19.2 points and 7.8 rebounds across 33 games, including 29 starts. She then became a full-time starter as a sophomore in 2024-25 and got even better with 23.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 60.5% from the field.
This past year, Crooks took another step forward. In 31 starts, she averaged 25.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting a career-best 64.9% as a junior. Crooks also put together a huge game in the season-ending loss to Syracuse with 37 points and five rebounds. Iowa State fell to the Orange, 72-63, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
