Apple releases new iOS 26.5 beta 1 build for iPhone
iOS 26.5 beta 1 arrived earlier this week for developers, but Apple has just shipped an updated beta 1 build for testing.
iOS 26.5 gets new beta 1 update just days after the first release
If your iPhone is running Apple’s developer beta, there’s a new iOS 26.5 update available to install today. iPadOS 26.5 got a revised beta too.
The first iOS 26.5 beta launched earlier this week. But now, just days later, a revised beta 1 build of iOS 26.5 has arrived.
Apple’s new iOS 26.5 beta 1 build is version 23F5043k, while the previous build was version 23F5043g.
Why a new build? It’s likely due to unexpected bugs that Apple didn’t want to wait for beta 2 before fixing.
Early testing hasn’t revealed any major issues that we’re aware of, but it could also be related to security vulnerabilities that would go unnoticed by users.
You can find the new beta by opening the Settings app on your iPhone and going to General ⇾ Software Update.
We’ll keep you posted on anything new discovered in the latest beta.
The original release earlier this week featured a handful of new features, including a ‘Suggested Places’ feature in Apple Maps, RCS end-to-end encrypted messaging, and more.
