9-1-1 Nashville star Isabelle Tate’s cause of death announced after she died at 23

On Sunday, Oct. 19, actress Isabelle Tate died at age 23 due to a rare disease, according to her talent agency.

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease can causes muscle weakness, sensory loss and daily mobility challenges. Her family requests donations to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association be dedicated to Tate.

“Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others. She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few,” her obituary reads.

“What she loved the most though was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light.”

Tate was a Nashville native and was first diagnosed with the disease when she was 13-years-old, according to reports from NBC News.

“When I was first diagnosed, I couldn’t fully understand what it was or grasp what it could be,” NBC News reported from a 2022 Instagram post.

“Over the years, I was going on with my life and would notice little things get more difficult for me, but not so much where it stood out to me significantly. Recently, it’s really progressed and I’ve come to terms that if I want to live my life to the fullest I need to use a wheelchair at times.”

Tate graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in business.

She was recently featured in 9-1-1: Nashville, a drama series about first responders where she’s seen in a wheelchair.

“I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville. She had a wonderful time,” the agency said in an Instagram post.

“I was so lucky to know her and she will be greatly missed by so many.”
