‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. dead at 42

Floyd Roger Myers, who played a younger version of Will Smith’s character on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” has died at the age of 42.

His mother, Renee Trice, told TMZ that Floyd died from a heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning at his home in Maryland. She also told the outlet her son had suffered three prior heart attacks.

His siter, Tyree Trice, shared in a GoFundMe for her brother’s funeral expenses that his death was “unexpected.”

“He was a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met,” she wrote, noting he has four children.

Floyd made his acting debut on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” playing Will Smith as a child in the season three episode, “Will Gets Committed.”

He later played Marlon Jackson of the Jackson 5 as a child in the ABC miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream,” which aired in 1992. The miniseries also starred Angela Bassett, Vanessa Williams, Holly Robinson Peete, and Billy Dee Williams.

His only other acting credit was a guest spot on the WB series “Young Americans” in 2000.

Floyd was also the co-founder of Fellaship Mens Group, a nonprofit dedicated to men’s mental health.

The organization shared a tribute post to him on Instagram, writing, “RIP to our good brother @rocwonder one of our co founders. Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor. Next mens meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here.”
