Under today’s last quarter moon in Cancer, it might be time to finally let go of something that’s been weighing you down. The trouble is that even if you know that an attitude is holding you back or a relationship is no longer right for you, that doesn’t necessarily make it any easier to release it. But do your best: It’s only by letting go of the things that don’t fit that you’ll make room for something better. In the late afternoon, Venus enters fair-minded Libra — but then a few hours later, it faces off with confusing Neptune, making it difficult to accurately assess new people or opportunities that enter your life. Do your best not to jump into anything too quickly; you’ll benefit from a bit more time to think through your options.

But do your best: It’s only by letting go of the things that don’t fit that you’ll make room for something better. Once you create routines, you tend to be serious about sticking with them. That doesn’t mean you never want to go off script, only that you recognize that the whole point of routines is the consistency they provide. Today, just remember that it’s okay to make exceptions every so often. If you expect perfection, you’ll inevitably let yourself down, and it’ll be tempting to throw away your good habits entirely. But if you create space to be flexible when you need it, your routines will feel more sustainable and less stifling.
The people around you are likely to find you tremendously charming today. The more you speak freely, sharing your genuine thoughts without worrying about whether you seem “cool” or not, the more well-received your thoughts will be. Your challenge is to avoid the temptation to start chasing external validation. If you tailor your words to what you think others want, you’ll lose sight of what makes them interesting in the first place, so try to stay independent and true to what you actually think.
You tend to be deeply loyal to the people you’ve known the longest. Even if things have been a bit rocky lately, you try to see the best in them, and you’re not quick to give up on them. Today, though, just remember that you don’t have to accept poor treatment from anyone, no matter how long they’ve been in your life. If you’re truly unhappy with how somebody is behaving toward you, you’re allowed to say something, to demand better, and even to walk away, if they show no willingness to change.
Some of the people in your life probably feel a bit overshadowed by you. It’s not that you’re doing anything wrong or acting selfishly, just that your energy can be so bright and magnetic that others, particularly your quieter friends, might feel overlooked in comparison. Part of you might be tempted to shrug and imagine that this isn’t really your problem — but try to have a bit more compassion today, and show them a bit of extra care and appreciation. They aren’t asking for you to dim your own light, they just want to feel seen, too.
When you aren’t sure how else to change your life, it’s easy to imagine that the answer is to accumulate more possessions. If you can just find the perfect clothes, or fill your home with beautiful objects, you hope that the rest of your problems won’t seem so bad. But ultimately, that strategy probably won’t work out — if you’re unsatisfied, more stuff won’t fix that. If you can focus on living a life full of close connections and interesting experiences — rather than on buying objects, no matter how cool or interesting — you’ll probably be happier.
It can seem as though the only way to be successful is to go against your instincts — not to do things that feel wrong necessarily, but to take actions that are contrary to who you are. There might be times when you decide that it’s worth it to step outside of your comfort zone and experiment with different ways of living your life — it’s also possible that you’ll surprise yourself. But today, remember that you’re allowed to be a little more stubborn. Insisting on doing things your way might not pay off immediately, but in the long run, you’ll probably be glad you did.
It’s nice to imagine that the possibilities in front of you are absolutely limitless, that with a little effort and a bit of luck, you could achieve literally anything you set your mind to. Today, though, you might be brought back down to reality: Even though you’re far from powerless, there still are, in fact, some limits. Your challenge right now is to work within those limits, rather than simply wish they didn’t exist. You have plenty of choices, and you could live any number of good, meaningful, exciting lives, but you still have to work with the hand you were dealt.
You’re not the type of person to automatically do what’s expected of you: You want to be truly free, and that means making choices that are surprising, counterintuitive, even a little reckless. Today, though, remember that you don’t always have to choose the odd and unconventional path just to prove a point. There are times when the “normal” option genuinely is the best one for you, or when you just get tired of taking so many risks. Taking the simple route every once in a while won’t make your life boring.
Today, remember that you don’t have to heed all the advice others give you — not because they don’t mean well, or even because there’s anything wrong with their ideas, but simply because they might not make sense for your situation. There are no one-size-fits-all solutions in life; what works for your friend might only create trouble for you. Listen to what the people you trust have to say, but don’t feel pressured to act on it if you sense that it’s not the right thing to do.
You’ve worked hard to build a life that’s stable and relatively predictable; while you’re not afraid to have new experiences, you want to be the one to decide when and how they happen. But today, try to remember that you can’t control the world or the people around you. Some surprises are inevitable, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you want a life that’s interesting and fulfilling, if you want to grow as a person and learn more about the world, you have to accept a little unpredictability.
Today, you might feel like the people around you are trying to hold you back. They don’t seem to appreciate your creativity or support your big dreams; when you’re feeling ungenerous, you worry that they just want you to be miserable so that they can feel better about their own lives. But this kind of thinking probably isn’t true — it’s much more likely that your friends truly want you to be happy — and even if it were, it wouldn’t be helpful. Do your best to stop imagining the worst of others; it’s only distracting you from living your own life.
