FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have made a decision about starting nickel Billy Bowman Jr. He will be inactive for the team’s Monday Night Football bout with the Buffalo Bills.

It is possible Dee Alford will fill in at nickel in Bowman’s absence. Alford has been playing in A.J. Terrell’s vacant spot for the last two games, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. Terrell will return to the starting lineup, though, this Monday after not receiving a game designation Saturday on the team’s game report.

Bowman popped up on the team’s injury report late last week with a knee/hamstring injury. He was originally listed as questionable in the team’s Saturday game report, the same report that ruled out wide receiver Darnell Mooney, also with a hamstring injury.

In a surprise turn, the Falcons also chose to keep fellow receiver Ray-Ray McCloud inactive against the Buffalo Bills. McCloud is not dealing with an injury, and is considered a healthy scratch for Atlanta.

Without Mooney and McCloud, the Falcons are likely to look to Casey Washington, KhaDarel Hodge and maybe even kick returner Jamal Agnew to fill in. They also used a standard practice squad elevation on receiver Deven Thompkins, too.
