These One UI 8.5 Features Could Be Exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Series
As leaks for the Galaxy S26 series come thick and fast, with new builds of One UI 8.5 releasing every week, we’re starting to piece together Samsung’s plans for their next generation of flagships. We’ve managed to get access to several One UI 8.5 features that may be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series. So, let’s get started.
Now Nudges
This is what seems to be the flagship new feature for the Galaxy S26 series. Now Nudges seems to be a combination of Magic Cue and At a Glance, showing contextual information when the time is right.
There are many proposed features under the Now Nudges umbrella. Recall important info highlights important info like flight tracking numbers without needing to search. Fill forms easily will trigger Galaxy AI to fill in information like your address, name, email and more into apps and websites. Get things done quickly suggests actions based on what’s currently on your screen, like jumping to a message from a friend or translating content into your native language.
Leaker DaMikeyMan managed to get the feature enabled on his device by changing some root level files. The first image you see is what the Nudge will show on the lock screen, in place of the current Now Brief widget in the Now Bar. This can be collapsed to show your shortcuts and other Now Bar cards. It works quite similar to At a Glance, giving a short greeting and weather information.
Type to edit in Gallery
Sticking with the Pixel theme, here’s another Google feature coming over to One UI 8.5. Type to edit is a new feature within the Photo Assist section in Gallery. This lets you type to make edits to your image with a prompt, instead of circling or drawing. This will most likely be another Galaxy S26 exclusive feature.
3D Live effect on lock screen
This new feature lets you turn your lock screen wallpaper into a 3D parallax live wallpaper that moves as you rotate your device. It’s similar to the implementation in iOS 26, but it still looks pretty cool on Galaxy devices.
You’re in luck, my friend
