Jason Kelce is speaking out after “fake quotes” regarding Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show were wrongly attributed to him.
In a message posted Tuesday on X, the retired Eagles center made it clear that “unless you hear something directly from me,” consider what’s being conveyed elsewhere false, as the apparent viral remarks — “If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America’s future” — were incorrectly pegged to Kelce, 37.
“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now. I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real,” the current ESPN analyst expressed in a post that has since amassed 1.8 million views.
Since the NFL announced last month that Bad Bunny will perform at the big game next Februay, the decision has been at the center of controversy.
President Trump called the choice “absolutely ridiculous,” while NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson implored Bad Bunny to “keep his ass” away from the league’s biggest stage if he feels a particular way about the U.S.
The three-time Grammy winner, who hails from Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, has been critical of Trump and previously told I-D he did not include tour stops in America over fears about the possibility of ICE being present at his shows.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” said Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.
“… But there was the issue of — like, f–king ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
Amid the chatter swirling around his upcoming performance, Bad Bunny, 31, ribbed his critics during an Oct. 4 appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”
“I’m really excited to be doing the Super Bowl, I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy,” he said, before continuing in Spanish, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

He closed out the monologue by jabbing the detractors.
“If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn,” Bad Bunny said.
