Kim Kardashian appeared on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast for the first time — and she didn’t hold back. The multi-hyphenate celebrity, who is next set to star on Ryan Murphy’s new legal drama All’s Fair, spilled the tea on everything from her co-parenting relationship with controversial ex-husband Kanye West, with whom she shares four children, to her possibly seven-figure glam routine.
In addition to the juicier details of her life, Kardashian also spoke about viral moments from her two decades in the public eye. Here’s everything she said.
How Kardashian’s mom reacted to her breaking the internet
In 2014, Kardashian appeared on the cover of Paper Magazine, along with the phrase “break the internet,” referring to her scandalous nude photo shoot in which the reality star appeared to perch a champagne glass on her backside.
When asked about the iconic moment by Cooper — specifically, whether or not she was really able to hold the drink up — Kardashian said she wore additional “padding” to keep the glass upright.
One person who was not a fan of the shoot? Kris Jenner, Kardashian’s mother and manager. Kardashian was living at her mom’s house when the photos came out, and she recalled Jenner screaming “What did you do?!?” when she saw the salacious cover image.
Why Kardashian was so upset about losing that earring in the ocean
In 2010, Keeping Up With the Kardashians followed the family to Bora Bora, where Kardashian took a dip in the ocean — and promptly lost one of her new diamond earrings. Kardashian freaked out — a moment memed forever when her sister Kourtney tried to put things in perspective, telling her, “Kim, there are people that are dying.”
But in Kardashian’s interview with Cooper, she explained that those earrings were one of her first big purchases after becoming famous and she hadn’t gotten them insured yet.
Fortunately, it was her younger sister Kylie Jenner who saved the day. “That week, Kylie dove down, found it, with her goggles, and went back and found the earring back,” Kardashian said. “So I have the full exact earring.”
How she pulled off that 2021 Met Gala look
Kardashian made a splash in 2021 when she appeared on the Met Gala red carpet in a head-to-toe all-black outfit. The look, designed by Demna Gvasalia, who was then the creative director of Balenciaga, covered Kardashian’s entire face. She told Cooper that despite the look making it impossible to eat or drink, she did not take it off at any point during the event, saying she was “committed” to the fashion choice.
She also denied the rumor that she wore that particular outfit because she had gotten a face lift and wanted to hide it.
Kardashian says she doesn’t have a concept of money anymore
Kardashian admitted she spends a lot on glam each year. However, she said that she does not personally pay for it when she’s working or filming her show. When asked to estimate, Kardashian replied, “It could be a million dollars.”
And in general, Kardashian explained that she doesn’t have a concept of what certain simple things cost. “I’d like to know more about what a milk carton costs,” she said.
The one thing Kardashian thinks could get her cancelled
When asked by Cooper what she thinks her most cancellable offense is, Kardashian talked about a photoshoot she did with her “dear friend” Justin Bieber, who was 16 at the time, when she was about 30. The shoot, for Elle’s September 2010 issue, was themed after the movie The Graduate, a film about a man who is seduced by a much-older woman.
“I look back and think, that would have not been the most appropriate thing,” Kardashian said, noting that Bieber’s girlfriend at the time, presumably Selena Gomez, was also on set that day.
Kardashian confirms that she never hooked up with Travis Barker
Kardashian’s sister Kourtney married Blink-182 drummer Barker in 2022. However, the musician previously shared in his memoir that he had a crush on Kardashian, but that the two never actually got together.
Kardashian also confirmed that she and Barker never had a romantic relationship. “No, I never have,” she told Cooper. “And that really sucks that that has gone on. But he dated Paris and we were all friends, and we’d all hang out and when I was with Paris, we’d be on the road and go to their tour in Amsterdam.”
She also noted that Kourtney was around during that time as well, and that Barker and Kourtney were neighbors for a decade before they got together. “He was always around with his kids, they’d always come to Kourtney’s house for the birthdays,” Kardashian said. “So, everything was super open and cool, everyone’s been friends.”
Kardashian recalls the ‘dumbest decision’ she ever made, while on MDMA
“I think I got married in Vegas,” Kardashian told Cooper when asked about the dumbest decision she ever made while “on molly” — a slang term for MDMA, a psychoactive drug known for producing feelings of euphoria. Kardashian married Damon Thomas in 2000, and claimed on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2018 that she was on drugs when she got hitched. The two stayed married until 2004, when Kardashian filed for divorce.
“Just maybe getting married and not telling my parents, and Kourtney finding it on the internet because it was public record and then telling my dad,” Kardashian said.
On the hardest moment from Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Kardashian said that navigating Caitlyn Jenner’s transition in 2015 was the most difficult thing for the family to deal with on camera, noting that Kendall and Kylie struggled with the idea that they were “losing” their dad.
“We’re like learning this all for the first time and then we want to be supportive for our little sisters, trying to be supportive for my mom that’s now getting a divorce and making sure we don’t say anything super offensive,” Kardashian said.
On what led to the end of her relationship with Kanye West
Kardashian married the rapper in 2014, and shares four children with him. In 2022, she filed for divorce following a number of high profile instances of erratic behavior from the artist.
“People can say that there was, like, signs and maybe I … wasn’t paying attention to them,” Kardashian said. “And I think when someone has, like, their first mental break, you know, you wanna be super supportive and you wanna help figure that out and you wanna really get into that with them and and be there for them.”
Kardashian said that while West wasn’t willing to make beneficial changes to his behavior, what ultimately made her decide to end their marriage was how his struggles affected her own mental health, making it difficult to parent the way her kids needed. “I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone,” she said. “And I think, like, when everyone’s older, they’ll be able to understand it and see that all.”
Kardashian also said West’s erratic behavior left her feeling unsafe physically, emotionally and even financially.
“I would like come home, and we had like five Lamborghinis and I’d come home and they’d all be gone if he was in an episode,” Kardashian said. “And I’d be like, ‘Oh, wait. Where’s all our cars? Like, my new car?’ And it would be like, oh, he gave them away to all of his friends.”
Kardashian also added that West verbally attacked her mother and sisters.
She told Cooper that since her divorce, she never keeps her kids away from West, and has sent them to countries like Saudi Arabia and Italy when he asks. However, she said she raises the kids “full time” at her house. “They live with me and I welcome a great healthy relationship with my kids and their dad,” she said. “He knows that. I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when it’s time for that and it goes in waves and phases. It’s a lot of work.”
Kardashian also said that West has not asked to see the kids in “a couple of months.”
“They always knew that he had a big life traveling before and he was on tour and all of that and that he lives in different countries all the time and loves to live all over the place,” she said. “So we manage it really well.”
Kardashian reflects on the Pete Davidson-Kanye West drama
Kardashian dated Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson in 2022. During the relationship, West attacked Davidson on social media, which included sharing an animated video which depicted Davidson being kidnapped and killed.
“That made me feel really sad. That really wasn’t fair for him. And I felt so sad and sorry for him,” Kardashian said of Davidson. “And he was such a great man that was like, ‘don’t worry, it’s all good.’ Or at least, you know, he acted that way.”
Kardashian said the incident made her “put up this guard” when it comes to dating, not wanting to put anyone else in that position.
Where she stands with her law career
Kardashian, who completed California’s Law Office Study Program in May 2025, which includes a four-year law apprenticeship, said she took the bar exam in July, after studying for four months. “I’m hoping for the best,” she said, adding that she will find out in November if she passes.
“I would love to maybe work on a few cases and see if I like being a trial attorney. I think that would be fun before I open up a firm,” she said. Kardashian explained that her ultimate goal with obtaining her law degree was being able to “help as many people as possible,” especially those who can’t afford attorney fees.
“I think it all stems again from family, right? I want to reunite families,” she said. “That’s what got me into this.”
