WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES — At least three people were killed and seven others were injured after a car crashed into a grocery store in Westwood, Los Angeles Thursday afternoon.
The crash was reported at 12:11 p.m. on Westwood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Some individuals were initially trapped underneath the vehicle, the department’s Lyndsey Lantzs said.
Lantz initially confirmed that at least two victims died, and fire officials later said a third victim died as well. Seven others also suffered injuries and transported to the hospital.
A view from KABC Los Angeles’ AIR7 chopper showed a large response from first responders, with a triage area set up to treat patients, outside of the 99 Ranch Market.
What appeared to be a silver sedan could also be seen inside the front of the store.
The cause of the crash has not been been determined, but authorities say the driver remained on the scene.
