5 top new shows you can stream this week on Netflix, Disney+ and more (March 23-29)
The first days of spring are finally here, and with them comes a fresh crop of new TV shows premiering on Netflix, Disney+ and best streaming services, as well as broadcast and cable TV.
Superheroes loom large as “Daredevil: Born Again” returns for a second season, with Matt Murdock fighting greater threats in New York City. Meanwhile, alt-history sci-fi favorite “For All Mankind” blasts off again with season 5. And if you like your TV with a side of dread, “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” promises exactly what the title suggests — and then some.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2 (Disney+)
The vibes: Grimy, bruised-knuckle vigilante warfare meets political paranoia, with a dash of Defenders-era nostalgia.
The plot: Season 2 wastes zero time: Wilson Fisk is now mayor and effectively at war with masked heroes, forcing Matt Murdock back into the shadows. As Daredevil builds a scrappy resistance — including the long-awaited return of Jessica Jones — the show leans into a darker, more brutal clash over who actually owns New York.
Premiere date: Episode 1 on Tuesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET
Where to watch: Disney+
‘Bait’ (Prime Video)
The vibes: “Uncut Gems” stress spiral meets showbiz satire, with identity angst, chaos, and cringe comedy.
The plot: Riz Ahmed plays Shah Latif, a struggling actor whose big audition for a Bond-like franchise detonates his life overnight. Across four increasingly unhinged days, paparazzi, trolls, family and opportunists close in as Shah chases validation at any cost. What starts as a shot at stardom mutates into a funny, frantic unraveling about fame, race, and how much of yourself you’re willing to sell.
Premiere date: All 6 episodes on Wednesday, March 25 at 3 a.m. ET
Where to watch: Prime Video
‘Heartbreak High’ season 3 (Netflix)
The vibes: Horny, chaotic, slightly unhinged senior year energy. “Euphoria” meltdown meets group-chat damage control.
The plot: It’s the final term at Hartley High, and graduation should be the biggest stressor — but not for Amerie. After a revenge prank spirals spectacularly out of control, she and her friends are stuck juggling secrets, guilt and the looming threat of consequences. Throw in a returning flame and unresolved feelings, and suddenly surviving high school feels harder than actually leaving it.
Premiere date: All 8 episodes on Wednesday, March 25 at 3 a.m. ET
Where to watch: Netflix
‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’ (Netflix)
The vibes: A mix of “Carrie” hysteria, “Rosemary’s Baby paranoia” and wedding anxiety from hell.
The plot: From creator Haley Z. Boston and produced by the Duffer Brothers, this hush-hush horror miniseries tracks Rachel (Camila Morrone) and Nicky (Adam DiMarco) in the week before their wedding — a timeline already doomed by the title. As doubts about love and commitment creep in, so does something far darker, building into a suffocating, character-driven nightmare that promises dread over cheap scares.
Premiere date: All 8 episodes on Thursday, March 26 at 3 a.m. ET
Where to watch: Netflix
‘For All Mankind’ season 5 (Apple TV)
The vibes: “For All Mankind” goes full space-western with generational rebellion, scrappy Martian grit and capitalism in a vacuum.
The plot: It’s 2012, and Mars isn’t a frontier anymore — it’s home. Years after the Goldilocks asteroid heist, Happy Valley has bloomed into a full-blown colony, complete with politics, power struggles and a younger generation ready to cut Earth loose. As an elderly Ed Baldwin faces his legacy, his grandson Alex leads a defiant “Mars is ours” movement, while Kelly, Aleida and Dev plot humanity’s next giant leap.
Premiere date: Episode 1 on Friday, March 27 at 12 a.m. ET
Where to watch: Apple TV
