White House reveals the performer that Trump really wants to see perform at the Super Bowl
Now it can be revealed: here’s who President Donald Trump really wants to see perform during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, Fox News reported.
Bad Bunny and Green Day, who have both expressed opposition to Trump policies, are set to perform during the big game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Because Bad Bunny is considered too “woke” by some, the conservative group Turning Point USA is mounting their own “All American” counter-halftime show, featuring Detroit-bred rapper Kid Rock.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt indicated that Trump would likely be tuning into the TPUSA halftime program instead of watching Bad Bunny and Green Day.
“I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. I must say that,” Leavitt said.
Leavitt also revealed that Trump isn’t picking a winner in Sunday’s big game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
However, Leavitt said she does have a rooting interest of her own.
“The president has wisely chosen not to make a prediction on Sunday night’s game, but as a native girl from New Hampshire, go Patriots,” Leavitt said.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday spoke to concerns from some that Bad Bunny would make a political statement during his halftime performance.
“Listen, Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world, and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” Goodell said. “But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on, and this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that. And I think artists in the past have done that.”
Goodell said, “I think Bad Bunny understands that, and I think he’ll have a great performance.”
