At halftime of the latest NFL game in London, the Los Angeles Rams lead the Jacksonville Jaguars 21-0.
The Rams took control of the game rather quickly, forcing three-and-outs on each of Jacksonville’s first two drives of the game and driving right down the field for touchdowns on each of their own first two possessions. Before you could blink, it was a two-score game.
Matthew Stafford had a monster first half, completing 15 of 20 passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns against a pass defense that had been one of the better units in the NFL coming into the game. Davante Adams was on the receiving end of two of those scores, making leaping grabs in the back of the end zone each time. Adams caught four passes for 34 yards and those two scores in the absence of star wideout Puka Nacua.
The Jags made a ton of mistakes in the first half, with Trevor Lawrence taking three sacks and the team committing five penalties for 66 yards. That list of penalties included a back-breaking block in the back that erased a 62-yard punt return touchdown by Parker Washington. The ensuing drive ended with a missed field goal, robbing the Jags of one of their few opportunities for points. Late in the half, they failed on their only red-zone trip, going for it on fourth-and-7 from the 11-yard line and coming up short.
