Square Enix survey asks fans about potential remakes/remasters

Remakes and remasters in the game industry have always been a dependable way to make money, but they’re very much a core pillar for companies nowadays. Hardly a month goes by where companies aren’t announcing or releasing a remake/remaster, and apparently Square Enix intends to continue down that road.

Square Enix has sent out a survey to account members in Japan and it’s focused on remakes and remasters. In particular, here’s what Square Enix is asking fans about:

• What Square Enix games they’d like to see remade
• What format would they like to see games remade in (HD-2D, 3D, Doll, Pixel Remaster…)
• What’s important in purchasing a remake/remaster (new story content, post game content, voice acting…)

Square Enix didn’t specify which games or franchises are currently being considered for remakes or remasters, but all you have to do is look back at the rich history of the company to know that there are plenty of titles ripe for the treatment.
