The Pokémon Company Group Reveals 2026 Pokémon Day Plans, Including Pokémon Presents Video Presentation Celebrating 30 Years of the Brand
Bellevue, Wash. — Feb. 20, 2026 — Ahead of this year’s Pokémon Day on Feb. 27, 2026, The Pokémon Company group today announced that a new Pokémon Presents will air at 6:00 a.m. PST / 2:00 p.m. GMT / 3:00 p.m. CET on that day.
Pokémon Day is an annual holiday that commemorates the release of the original Pokémon video games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, in Japan. This year’s Pokémon Day marks 30 years of Pokémon. Since the launch of the original video games in 1996, Pokémon has continued to be one of the most successful and influential entertainment franchises in the world, supported by a passionate and dedicated community.
To celebrate the holiday, The Pokémon Company group is inviting Trainers around the world to tune in to a Pokémon Presents video presentation on Pokémon Day for exciting updates and announcements across the Pokémon franchise. The video presentation will be streamed at 6:00 a.m. PST / 2:00 p.m. GMT / 3:00 p.m. CET on Feb. 27, 2026, on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels.
Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version Arriving on Pokémon Day
In addition to the Pokémon Presents, The Pokémon Company group today announced that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, the 2004 remakes of the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green video games originally released in 1996, are coming to the Nintendo Switch system on Feb. 27, 2026. Originally launched on the Game Boy Advance system in 2004, Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version will be coming to the Nintendo Switch system as download-exclusive titles to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon. These titles will be available to play after the conclusion of the Pokémon Presents presentation and can be played on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
Trainers can watch a new video showcasing Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version for the Nintendo Switch system on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.
“What’s Your Favorite?” Campaign Celebrates 30 Years of Pokémon
Earlier this month, The Pokémon Company International revealed the massive, yearlong “What’s Your Favorite?” campaign celebrating 30 years of Pokémon. As part of the campaign, fans are invited to share their favorite Pokémon with the new “What’s Your Favorite?” snapshot feature through the mobile game sensation Pokémon GO, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
