Tonight’s (Oct. 20) episode of Raw kicked off with General Manager Adam Pearce making a major announcement.
He said World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was already banged up coming out of his Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes, and he was further injured when The Vision shockingly turned on him last week. As a result of that attack, Rollins already had “major surgery” and will be out of action for a long time. Pearce was left with no choice but to strip Seth of the gold.
Rollins wasn’t in the building to address the situation. Bron Breakker walked out with the belt in his possession last week, so Pearce asked him to hand it over…please.
The new champion will be crowned on November 1 at Saturday Night’s Main Event when CM Punk goes one-on-one with the winner of a Battle Royal that takes place later tonight on Raw.
Once Pearce left the ring, Paul Heyman took the mic and explained why The Vision turned on Rollins. You see, he just couldn’t “shoulder” the responsibility of leading The Vision into the future.
Ouch, that’s got to be a blow to the ego of the former champion.
