Bobby Bones calls out Chase Stokes’ deleted comment labeling Kelsea Ballerini’s ex Morgan Evans ‘pathetic’

Kelsea Ballerini‘s on-and-off love, actor Chase Stokes, is being called out by the host of the Bobby Bones Show for a comment that he made following an interview Bones did with Ballerini’s ex, country artist Morgan Evans.

The interview waded into the subject of Evans’ divorce from Ballerini, whom he split with in 2022 after almost five years of marriage. He has stayed mostly quiet about the breakup in interviews, but he made an exception with his Bobby Bones interview. The appearance was tied to his upcoming album, Steel Town, which references the life-changing experience.

Morgan noted that he had not been expecting his wife to ask for a divorce, and the online hate had been tough to handle.

“You go through all the stages of grief with it, right?” Evans said on the show. “Like, ‘Oh my God,’ and then you get kind of angry. Dealing with an online kind of vitriol is almost a skill you have to learn, or some techniques you have to learn for that.”

On Wednesday, Bones called out Stokes for having made a comment, which he alleged had been taken down, on the interview. Stokes had written: “This is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity I’ve ever seen. Get a f—ing life.”

“If you’re gonna come that hard then maybe don’t take it down. Also, nothing bad to say about this person,” Bones said, as he pointed up to an image of Stokes’ words. “I don’t even know him. I’m sure he’s probably a good guy. Mostly, like, in my heart, I just wonder why certain people can talk about things and other people can’t.”

Evans had “not said anything about his life,” argued Bones, who is Morgan’s friend. “He wrote a record about his life, and part of that record, just a part, a small part of the record, is about a divorce that he went through. The whole record is not that. Most of the record’s not that, because there’s part about his traveling around the world, his new relationship, which, she’s awesome — like, all these positive things.”

Evans is currently dating singer Laci Kaye Booth.

Stokes, known for the show Outer Banks, was first linked to Ballerini in 2023.

Bones said that the “personal attack” seemed odd to him.

“The only people going ‘You’re less masculine'” are the “people who are maybe insecure in their own masculinity.”
