Zendaya Says “Many” Were Duped By AI Photos Of Tom Holland Wedding
Zendaya has revealed that people in her personal life were fooled by viral AI photos purporting to depict her wedding day with Tom Holland.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Dune actress admitted that people she knew got mad that they were not invited to the ceremony.
Kimmel broached the subject on his Monday show, saying the internet went “berserk” over the images, which he said looked “very realistic.”
Zendaya responded: “Many people have been fooled by them. While I was, like, just out and about in real life, and people were like, ‘Oh my god, your wedding photos are gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI.’”
“That’s so crazy,” Kimmel observed, before asking whether people got upset with her for not being invited to the wedding. “Yeah,” Zendaya nodded emphatically.
The photos were generated by Juan Regueira Rodríguez, a self-described digital creator. He posted them on March 3, and they went viral, generating 12M likes and 17,000 comments.
During the Kimmel interview, Zendaya said she feels “very good” about the July 31 Spider-Man film Brand New Day, in which she stars with Holland.
She added: “It’s such a huge part of our story, obviously, and we grew up making those films. And it’s such a privilege to be able to do them. I know Tom cares so much about the role and doing it justice.”
