The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers have issued their final injury reports with injury designations ahead of their Thursday night matchup at SoFi stadium in LA. Here they are:
Changes from yesterday in bold.
The Vikings are only doing walk-through practices this week, so these reports are an estimate of their participation had they conducted full practices. Two players have been ruled out for the Vikings- C.J. Ham and once again Andrew Van Ginkel. Not that surprising with Van Ginkel, but there appears to be some progress with him that could lead to his returning next week for the Lions game. Having both starting tackles as questionable for the Chargers game is not ideal, and Darrisaw being added to the injury list as a DNP on Wednesday with a knee rather than veteran day off isn’t encouraging, but we’ll see tomorrow how significant that was. Brian O’Neill was upgraded to limited on Wednesday and I suspect he’s more likely to play on Thursday. Everyone else will likely be active on Thursday- I’d be surprised if Aaron Jones wasn’t given KOC’s comments earlier this week.
Update on Christian Darrisaw:
The Chargers have two players out that were on the injury list to begin the week- Hassan Haskins and Otito Ogbonnia who has since been placed on IR. But the Chargers also have seven players including three potential starters listed as questionable. Joe Alt is the big one here. While he continued to be limited in practice and apparently had his ankle heavily taped, he said the plan was for him to play on Thursday night. We’ll see if that happens. The Chargers could also get right tackle Trey Pipkins back on Thursday, who was also limited and wearing a knee brace in practice. Questionable designations are meant to mean a 50/50 chance of playing, but in reality end-up playing around 66%-70% of the time. My guess is that if Alt or Pipkins play on Thursday, they may not be 100% as they return from injury.
