Starting Pitcher Streamer Ranks Fantasy Baseball: 3/29 & 3/30 & 3/31
Rankings of the SP Streamers for today’s, tomorrow’s and the day after tomorrow’s games for fantasy baseball.
Every day of the 2026 baseball season, I’ll be looking at today’s and tomorrow’s slate of scheduled starting pitchers and ranking their matchups for your fantasy baseball streams.
There’s a lot that goes into this and you can hang out with me on twitch.tv/pitcherlist to talk about the specific ranks as I make them every weekday morning from 10am – 12pm ET. If you have questions about these ranks, please ask during the morning Twitch AMA. Those are my office hours as I generally don’t answer comments on the site.
There are four tiers to these rankings with 12-teamers in mind:
Auto-Start – Just do it. Don’t overthink this, start the man. This includes “if I have them rostered, I’m starting them” pitchers.
Probably Start – I’m likely starting these arms, though I recognize there is more risk than we’d like there to be. Either it’s a tough matchup for a good-not-elite pitcher or a weak lineup for a volatile arm. These pitchers have a 50% or greater chance of performing well in my view and I’m starting them in the majority of situations.
Questionable Start – Think of this tier as “I don’t want to start these pitchers in a vacuum, but you could do worse.” Streamers found in this tier are not pitchers I’m targeting and are only if you are in dire need of one. To play it safe with streaming, just start the Probably Start streamers.
Do Not Start – The reward is not worth the risk. Don’t do it. Seriously, these pitchers have a very slim chance of success or sometimes none at all.
Obviously, there will be circumstances where pitchers should move between teams for your situation specifically and these new tiers should act as a little more help than the straight table from last year.
Please keep in mind that streaming is far from a perfect play. In fact, if they work out over half the time, I’d consider it a success. These matchup rankings & streamer picks are going to be wildly different than the actual results throughout the year, so please, have sympathy before the scathing comments and tweets. I’m only trying to help!
There is a second table (and now third for PL Pro members) for tomorrow’s starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.
And of course, there are my streaming picks of the day. Please keep in mind that for my streaming record, I am forced to pick a streamer every day even if they are in the bottom tier. Those highlighted in Green are that day’s streaming pick in the second tier and I’d roll with them everywhere. Those in Yellow are in the third tier and should be okay if you’re searching for something on a given day, but I don’t recommend streaming unless you’re in need. Finally, those are Red are those I really don’t want to start (they are labeled as “Do Not Start”, after all) but have no other choice. Don’t stream Do Not Start pitchers unless you are truly desperate. A streaming pick is defined as “rostered in 20% or fewer leagues” according to Fantasy Pros. This really emphasizes the point that I’d be happy if over 50% of these worked. I could do the whole sub 30/40% rostered, but there’s no fun in that, and it applies to a smaller audience.
As I do my rankings, I thought it would be helpful to showcase a table of how we’re ranking offenses, granted by our PLV-powered Projections (in alphabetical order by tier):

Remember, these offensive rankings are based on each offense’s Process+ so far this year and how we project their lineups moving forward. It means you’re going to see a little different offensive rankings than you may see elsewhere, and there will always be some surprises. This is based on skills, not purely results! To spice up these streaming recommendations, I’ve included our new daily fantasy baseball projections powered by PLV, and I’ll be competing against PL Bot to pick the best streaming option each day.
These projections are different from your typical projections as they incorporate our pitch quantifier PLV, assessing pitcher and hitter skills at a much more granular level than your standard box score.

The streaming record is determined by “Was this a productive game for 12-teamers if I started them?” Roughly a “PQS” with a Win and a strikeout per inning with a sub 1.20 WHIP, with a minimum of 5 IP. Close calls are decided by Twitch chat.
Note: If no pitcher under 20% rostered would have qualified for a “Streaming Win,” no loss is granted.
(Opener) – Outlines that a pitcher is being opened for that day & the pitcher listed will follow the opener.

Auto-Starts
Nolan McLean vs. PIT – He doesn’t have the “AGA” label yet, but it sure feels like he will soon.
Jesús Luzardo vs. TEX – Ditto for Luzardo. I love seeing him introduce the sinker to RHB, which betrays my typical emotions, but with Luzardo’s super hittable four-seamer, it makes sense. Become a groundball guy, not a flyball guy!
Shota Imanaga vs. WSN – His velocity was up to 92+ in the spring, and it’s the Nationals. Please show us 92 mph again.
Probably Starts
Tatsuya Imai vs. LAA – Just give us one great start and you’ll quickly slide into the top tier with matchups like these.
Max Meyer vs. COL – It’s just too good a matchup. The Rockies RHB are absurdly susceptible to RHP sliders, and it’s Meyer’s best quality.
Shane Baz vs. MIN – I dig the slight changes to his arsenal this spring and the Twins don’t scare me.
Brandon Sproat vs. CHW – I’m stoked for this one. I may be a little too high given his short resume, but I was incredibly impressed with his gains across the arsenal in the spring. We may see a slightly shorter leash here, too, around 75-80 pitches instead of the standard 90+ I expect we’ll get by the start of May.
MacKenzie Gore @ PHI – I dig Gore’s new situation + remember what he did against the Phillies on OD last year? What was it, 13 strikeouts?!
Connelly Early @ CIN – I can’t wait. He comes with the “Shag Rug” and it’s a little riskier than the rank may suggest, but hot dang I love his arsenal so much. He’s worth investing in early in the season and if you have him, you’re starting him.
Steven Matz @ STL – This Matz vs. May matchup is a streaming darling. Both arms are capable of churning outs against weak lineups. I’m favoring Matz as a more command-focused arm.
Dustin May vs. TBR – I see May as undervalued right now. He looked great in the spring and could come through in a short first week.
Questionable Starts
Slade Cecconi @ SEA – If Cecconi features the cutter 30% of the time, I’m so down. Otherwise, the arsenal is kinda meh. Great park to pitch in, though.
Anthony Kay @ MIL – Alright Kay, don’t be the guy we saw in your last spring tune-up, be the one we saw before then. 95/96 mph with great intent on all your pitches to LHB/RHB.
Rhett Lowder vs. BOS – Lowder flexed a better change than I knew he had in his final spring outing and he could be a groundball fella in a tiny park. This may actually be a sneaky “Toby”.
Jack Kochanowicz @ HOU – I just watched Soriano take down the RHB-heavy lineup, and I wanted to highlight to y’all that if you’re searching for something, Jackie K is my top choice. He had increased velocity and a wider, improved arsenal this spring, and I can see it surprising some. Remember, the third tier = Guys I wouldn’t normally start. Do Not Start = Guys I really wouldn’t start.
Jose Quintana @ MIA – It’s in Miami. Just treat this as if Quintana wasn’t on the Rockies for a heartbeat.
Do Not Starts
Seth Lugo @ ATL – Lugo isn’t the guy he was two years ago. He also has the ability to go six of decent quality if that’s what you need. I really wouldn’t, though.
Grant Holmes vs. KCR – If you’re searching for strikeouts on Sunday, this could be the ticket. Super risky, though.
Luis Morales @ TOR – He throws hard n all, but the control is just so wonky. I don’t want to touch it.
Eric Lauer vs. ATH – Lauer isn’t the worst arm out there, but the Athletics ain’t the team you want to face.
Emerson Hancock vs. CLE – Hancock has not figured it out yet. There’s a shot for a groundball-heavy game blessed by “Koufax”, and good luck if that’s the gamble you have to take.
Bailey Ober @ BAL – His velocity is below 90 mph and this has Oh Brother written all over it.
Jake Irvin @ CHC – The only reason he’s not the last arm is the longer leash.
Carmen Mlodzinski @ NYM – He actually has some fun stuff, with a legit curve and sometimes 96+ mph velocity. I highly question the leash and if he can throw enough strikes.

Auto-Starts
Chase Burns vs. PIT – He won’t go super long, but the quality is going to be lovely.
Kris Bubic vs. MIN – Bubic is healthy. Enjoy it.
Edward Cabrera vs. LAA – Cabrera isn’t at his peak and yet, it’s the Angels.
Probably Starts
Cody Ponce vs. COL – I love this start for Ponce and was even tempted to put him in the top tier.
Ryan Weathers @ SEA – Same with Weathers. The raw numbers of the spring weren’t ideal, but the stuff is premium. Can’t wait for this one.
Kyle Harrison vs. TBR – The blister seems to be okay and the Rays are not a strong offense.
Mick Abel @ KCR – It’s the Mick Abel Guy! His fastballs are excellent and the secondary command is coming along. There’s some risk here with a Royals offense that may give him some trouble + the “Shag Rug”.
Clay Holmes @ STL – I’m not a huge fan of “The Adobe”, but it’s the Cardinals.
Questionable Starts
Braxton Ashcraft @ CIN – I wonder how long he’ll go for + it’s not great pitching in Cincy.
Ranger Suarez @ HOU – He has looked terrible in the spring and may need a few starts to get going.
Luis Castillo vs. NYY – It’s Casty at home, but it’s also the Yankees. I wonder if we’ll see that cutter inside to LHB.
Jack Leiter @ BAL – He’s a volatile arm. If he can execute, he’ll dominate. That’s a big IF.
Landen Roupp @ SDP – I think we’re going to see improvement from Roupp across the year, though it’s wise to be careful against a good Padres squad.
Chris Paddack vs. CHW – Paddack is fine and it’s the White Sox.
Davis Martin @ MIA – Ditto with Martin vs. the Marlins.
Michael Soroka vs. DET – Soroka’s new cutter/slider may be just what he needs. I want to wait one start before signing on.
Chris Bassitt vs. TEX – I just don’t love what Bassitt does. There’s a shot at 5/6 boring frames, though.
Justin Verlander @ ARI – Verlander is kinda looking like last year’s Verlander, which could be good enough for the Sneks.
Kyle Leahy vs. NYM – I kinda dig Leahy’s stuff, but the Mets are a hurdle. This stream is secretly a spec-add stash.
Do Not Starts
Taijuan Walker vs. WSN – Even though it’s the Nats, I just cannot get behind Walker and his lack of stuff.
Parker Messick @ LAD – I’m a fan of Messick. I’m not a fan of facing the Dodgers.
Foster Griffin @ PHI – He’s on #SwatchWatch2026, which means we’re just monitoring against the Phillies.
Lance McCullers Jr. Jr. vs. BOS – I do not expect five frames here. There may be some strikeouts, but the control is so volatile.
Walker Buehler vs. SFG – I want to believe. Make me believe.
Ryan Johnson @ CHC – He’s not the young arm to go after.
Aaron Civale @ ATL – The floor is too low.
Tomoyuki Sugano @ TOR – Sugano isn’t in Coors yet, but he’s not a guy to target.
Nick Martinez @ MIL – He was delayed with a hamstring issue and wasn’t looking good prior.
Roki Sasaki vs. CLE – I don’t buy Sasaki at all.
Bryce Elder vs. ATH – I feel for Atlanta fans who have to endure this. Good luck.
