FOXBOROUGH — Though the Browns lost 32-13 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Myles Garrett couldn’t have done much more to help his team.

The defensive lineman set a Cleveland franchise record with five sacks and was living in New England’s backfield all afternoon.

“I would throw the whole performance away for a win,” Garrett said.

Two of his sacks came matched up against rookie Will Campbell, and after the loss, Garrett was asked what he thought of the Patriots first-round pick.

“He’s strong,” Garrett said. “You want to set the tempo and the pace of the game with power. He was able to be pretty firm in his stance and keep me from knocking him back. Just trying to hit him with different looks, try to keep him off guard. I watched a lot of tape of him versus Will Anderson (in college), and I know he had a difficult time with Will, and I consider that my little bro. I had to try to take some things out of his book and work them into mine to have success.”

Campbell wasn’t the only young Patriots player that Garrett assessed, as the All-Pro also raved about Drake Maye.

“I think he is a great human being,” Garrett said. “I think he is a good quarterback who is soon to be a great quarterback. I like how he’s grown. I know it’s nice to be a part of his journey. Hate to be on this end of it, but it’s nice to see how he’s leading his team. He’s helped them rebuild into what they are now, so, in a way, I’m proud of him, and I’m happy to see his success.”
