Draymond offers NSFW response to Warriors’ Giannis pursuit – NBC Sports Bay Area & California
As speculation around a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade continues to swirl ahead of the NBA trade deadline, Draymond Green made one thing clear: He’s just as in the dark as everyone else.
Speaking on “The Draymond Green Show,” the Warriors forward addressed the growing chatter linking Golden State to the Milwaukee Bucks superstar — and didn’t pretend to have inside information.
“This is not the podcast where you find that out,” Green said. “I actually don’t have a f–king clue. I have no idea. I know what you know — exactly what I saw and read, which is the same thing you saw and read.”
Green’s comments come as league-wide attention has intensified on Antetokounmpo, with recent reports suggesting the two-time NBA MVP could be preparing for an exit from the Bucks — either before the Feb. 5 trade deadline or during the offseason.
While Green stressed he has no direct knowledge of the Warriors’ plans, he acknowledged the ripple effect Antetokounmpo’s uncertain future has created across the league.
“I did see that Giannis is preparing for an exit from Milwaukee, whether that’s at the deadline or the offseason,” Green said. “Apparently, it’s inevitable and it’s going to happen. So, how does that change the trade deadline? Everyone around the league, even we’ll be calling Milwaukee — even if you’re not calling for Giannis.”
Golden State is one of the four teams that have expressed firm interest in Antetokounmpo, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday. Even as Antetokounmpo deals with a left calf strain, the Warriors recently held discussions with the Bucks and are willing to put a substantial offer on the table, ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported Thursday morning.
Still, as Green emphasized, none of those calculations are coming from the locker room.
For now, the Warriors remain one of several teams monitoring the situation — and Green remains firmly in the same position as fans and media alike: Watching, waiting, and reading the same reports everyone else is.
