Adobe Firefly offers unlimited image and video generations
Adobe is removing generation limits from Firefly, giving subscribers unlimited image and video generations across both its own models and supported third-party AI models, but you have to act quick. Here are the details.
Adobe Firefly drops monthly image generation credits for new subscriptions until March 16
In case you’re not familiar with Firefly, this is Adobe’s suite of generative models that generate images and video. It includes Adobe’s own models, alongside third-party integrations such as Google’s Nano Banana Pro, OpenAI’s GPT-Image 1.5, and Runway’s Gen-4 image models.
After initially rolling out Firefly within Adobe’s suite of Creative Cloud apps, including Photoshop and Illustrator, Adobe released Firefly as a standalone platform that can be accessed from the web or through dedicated apps on iOS and even visionOS.
Adobe Firefly subscribers can choose from a variety of plans. Up until now, one key differentiator was the number of image generation credits included with each plan, which capped how many generations users could create.
Today, Adobe is lifting these caps on firefly.adobe.com and Firefly Boards, as long as you subscribe to Firefly before March 16. Adobe explains:
“Firefly subscribers can now create unlimited generations with industry-leading image models, including Google Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image Generation, Runway Gen-4 Image, as well as Adobe’s commercially safe Firefly image and video models.”

Specifically about the March 16 cutoff, here’s what Adobe says:
Sign up before March 16 and get unlimited image and Firefly video generations up to 2K resolution in the Adobe Firefly app. The offer applies to customers on Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, 4,000-credit, 7,000-credit, and 50,000-credit plans, and includes unlimited generations with industry-leading image models, including Google Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image Generation, Runway Gen-4 Image, as well as Adobe’s commercially safe Firefly image and video models.
Importantly, the offer is valid only for the standalone Adobe Firefly subscription, rather than also for Creative Cloud subscriptions.
Adobe says that 86% of creators now use AI in their daily workflows. In addition to that, over the last year, the length of their prompts has doubled. This indicates that creators are learning to use AI as part of their workflows, rather than a gimmick or a novelty.
The company notes that today’s move is aimed at helping creators stay in the creative flow, going through the trial-and-error of the creative process without needing to worry about their image generation credits.
Here are a few examples of what unlimited generation credits can unlock, according to Adobe:
- Develop and align ideas in Firefly Boards, where you and your team can bring inspiration, references, and generated assets into one shared space to iterate quickly, gather feedback, and move concepts forward together.
- Edit sequences with Firefly video editor, the browser-based assembly space for generative storytelling
- Continue to refine by adding sound effects or fully-licensed music tracks
- Edit your images with Prompt to Edit – simply describe your changes in plain language, such as adding or removing objects, swapping backgrounds, or refining details instantly
Adobe also notes that with Valentine’s Day and the Lunar New Year coming up, users around the world will get a chance to use its own models, as well as Firefly’s third-party integrations, to take the platform for a spin.
