Two of the famous Baldwin brothers were involved in a car crash in New York on Monday.

Alec Baldwin was driving his wife Hilaria’s Range Rover when he smashed into a tree on the side of Montauk Highway in the Hamptons, according to the New York Post. Alec’s brother Stephen Baldwin was the only passenger in the vehicle; neither was injured.

“I’m fine, my brother Stephen was visiting me,” Alec said in an Instagram video Monday night.

Photos published by Page Six and TMZ show the white Range Rover had significant damage to the front end as police attended the scene. A large truck was also seen nearby.

“A guy cut me off in a truck. A big garbage truck the size of a whale,” Alec said. “It must have been something commercial, taking a way material from a construction site. It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen.”

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree, I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my car – my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But it’s all fine, I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”

Police have not released details of the crash, but the truck company involved reportedly told TMZ its driver was not at fault in the accident.

Baldwin said East Hampton police officers who responded to the scene were “as nice as can be” and thanked them for their help. He added that he was headed to L.A. next to see his wife and children.

“Hilaria, I love you more than anything. I’m very proud of you,” he said to his wife, who was recently voted off “Dancing with the Stars.”

Baldwin had been in the area for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from Oct. 5-13. He serves as co-chair of its Board Executive Committee and also owns a summer home in East Hampton.

Alec Baldwin, 67, recently visited Buffalo to attend the world premiere of “Baristas vs. Billionaires” Friday at the Buffalo Film Festival, according to WIVB. The Emmy-winning actor produced the film about the Starbucks union drive that began in Buffalo.

Stephen Baldwin, 59, confirmed to TMZ that he and his brother Alec were uninjured. Stephen is scheduled to appear the Syracuse International Film Festival on Sunday, Oct. 19, to receive the Sophia Award at the Catherine Cummins Theatre in Cazenovia.

Stephen is being recognized for his work as an actor, director, and producer, including roles in “The Usual Suspects,” “Bio-Dome,” “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas,” “Fled,” “Celebrity Apprentice” and a number of faith-based and advocacy projects like “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone.” He also directed and produced the 2004 skateboarding documentary “Livin’ It” and currently hosts the podcast “One Bad Movie,” where he interviews industry professionals about their favorite so-called “bad movies.”

Alec, who received a Sophia Award from the Syracuse film festival in 2023, is known for roles in “30 Rock,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Departed,” “Glengarry Glen Ross,” “The Boss Baby,” “Beetlejuice,” the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, and an Oscar-nominated performance in “The Cooler.” In 2021, he accidentally discharged a prop gun on the set of “Rust,” killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins; involuntary manslaughter charges were dismissed in 2024 after a judge ruled that evidence had been improperly withheld.

The Baldwin brothers, including Stephen, Alec, Daniel and Billy, have Syracuse ties and frequently visit the area for charity efforts through their late mother’s Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY. Stephen and Alec were scheduled to face off against each other in a pickleball match to raise money for The Baldwin Fund in August, but the Skaneateles event was postponed until next year due to a death in the Byrne family, who had partnered for the fundraiser.

“I love Syracuse,” Alec Baldwin said in 2021. “People laugh at me. If I hadn’t gotten remarried and had (multiple) children with my wife (Hilaria), I know in my heart I would’ve moved to Syracuse… I love it there.”
