Looks like there’s a new Coldplay couple making headlines. Apparently, Sophie Turner and Chris Martin are an item — they went on a “secret date” in September, according to the Daily Mail. Whatever that means!
While not much information is available about this maybe-new couple, Turner has been a longtime fan of Martin’s. Her ex-husband, Joe Jonas, surprised her with a birthday video from the singer during a 2020 episode of Cup of Joe, his short-lived show on Quibi. “This is Chris from Coldplay,” Martin said in his message. “I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day and I’m sending you all my love and I hope you’re having the best time.” Turner was visibly excited and emotional, and declared, “I’m not going to cry on camera” before high-fiving Jonas.
Now, was this “secret date” a romantic get-together or simply two Brits meeting up? Who’s to say. Turner was last romantically linked to Peregrine “Perry” John Dickinson Pearson, the heir to the 4th Viscount Cowdray. They were last seen together in London on a dinner date in June and reportedly broke up in September after “bickering and arguing between feverish snogs on the dance floor” at a high-society wedding, according to “Page Six.” She split from Jonas after four years of marriage and their divorce was finalized in September 2024. They share two children together, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.
Whether Turner is dating Martin or not, I’m glad she at least got to live out every girl’s dream: Hanging out with her celebrity crush.
