Packers beat Steelers 35-25, improve to 5-1-1
For the third straight game, the Packers scored on the first play of the fourth quarter when Jacobs ran in a 4-yard TD run. Green Bay pulled ahead 22-19 with 14:55 left after a successful two-point conversion on a pass to Doubs.
Micah Parsons sacked Rodgers for a 10-yard loss on first down, leading to Pittsburgh going three-and-out. Doubs gained 11 yards on the punt return. The ball was moved to the Steelers’ 45 after Nick Herbig was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Wilson broke a 15-yard run off the right side on the first play of the series. Zach Tom was slow to get up after a 2-yard pass to Kraft. On the next third-and-4 play, Kraft caught a slant and extended it for a 24-yard touchdown to put the Packers up 29-19 with 10:57 remaining.
At that point, Kraft set a new career high for receiving yards with 143 on catches.
Metcalf was called for a personal foul on a Warren 5-yard run, pushing Pittsburgh back to third-and-17. Gary then scored his second sack of Rodgers, forcing the Steelers to punt with 8:56 left.
Love completed his 18th consecutive pass on a 28-yard strike to Watson to the Steelers’ 28. He tied Brett Favre’s franchise record of 20 with a 14-yard pass to Doubs on third-and-9.
The streak ended when Love had to dirt the ball on second-and-6. Brandon McManus made a 28-yard field goal to push the Packers’ lead to 32-19 with 5:28 remaining.
On second-and-10, Cooper forced a fumble of Gainwell after a 5-yard catch. Javon Bullard recovered at the Pittsburgh 26.
Wilson gained 19 yards on three straight carries before the drive stalled. McManus made a 25-yard field goal to extend Green Bay’s lead to 35-19 with 3:59 remaining.
Karl Brooks broke up a Rodgers pass at the line of scrimmage on second-and-5 from the Pittsburgh 46. The Steelers converted on fourth-and-5 with a 14-yard pass to Metcalf.
Valentine appeared to break up a pass for Wilson in the end zone, but the league ruled it was a 21-yard TD. The two-point conversion failed and the Packers maintained a two-score lead, 35-25, with 2:07 remaining.
Doubs recovered the onside kick. Rasheed Walker got up slowly after Wilson’s 3-yard run at the two-minute warning. Anthony Belton replaced him at left tackle. Wilson picked up enough yards to run on the clock on the win.
