Battlefield 6 delivered a huge opening week across Europe, beating launch sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and EA Sports FC 26 (GSD data, combining physical + digital sales).
Its launch was four times bigger than Battlefield 5, according to TGB estimates.
There are a few caveats. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was included in Xbox Game Pass, which means it’s likely Call of Duty had a far higher player count than Battlefield 6. This GSD data is purely premium sales.
EA Sports FC 26 also had a staggered launch, with the Ultimate Edition launching ahead of the Standard Edition, hence the weaker launch for the football game this year.
Even so, it’s an impressive opening result for EA’s new shooter, which has sold seven million units worldwide, the company has announced.
EA Sports FC 26 slips to No.2 as a result of Battlefield’s blockbuster launch. The game’s sales are down 48% week-on-week.
Sony’s Ghost of Yotei also slips down a place to No.3, with sales dropping 75% over its debut week.
The other new game in the charts this week was Little Nightmares 3, which debuts at No.4. Bandai Namco’s game had a solid launch, but sales are slightly lower than the launch of Little Nightmares 2 from 2021 (approximately 14% down, TGB estimates).
Last week’s Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 (physical data only) drops three places to No.6 after a 65% sales drop, while Digimon Story: Time Stranger tumbles from No.4 to No.9 with a 72% sales drop.
