‘Bringing Up Bates’ Star Katie Bates Provides First Update Since Revealing Her Husband Travis Clark’s Affair; Says She’s Getting Intensive Therapy – The Ashley’s Reality Roundup
It’s been a month since Katie Bates‘ husband, Travis Clark, publicly admitted to having an affair and now the former Bringing Up Bates star is giving her fans an update on how she’s been navigating Travis’ very public betrayal.
As The Ashley previously told you, Travis posted to Instagram Stories last month, admitting to cheating on Katie. (His admission came just hours after Katie publicly announced that she had recently suffered a miscarriage.) Travis– with whom Katie has been married to for four years and shares two young children with— wrote that he had “repeatedly” broken Katie’s trust via the affair and stated that he was “sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices.”
Katie later addressed Travis’ affair on social media, writing that “Travis told me he felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he has done, and I support his decision and desire for transparency,” Katie wrote, adding that she was being supported by legal counsel and trying to carefully decide her next course of action.
On Sunday, Katie brought up Travis’ affair for the first time since that post.

“I’ve wanted to come on here and say something for a while but I honestly haven’t really known how to put words to any of this,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “This year didn’t start how I thought it would. It’s been really heavy and emotional in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Some days I feel okay and steady, and other days it’s hard to even leave the house. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.”
Katie went on to thank her followers for their support, before revealing that she is about to go to a four-day therapy intensive.
“I don’t really feel equipped to handle something like this on my own, so getting help feels important,” she wrote. “I know I can’t pour into anything else well if I’m not actually working through this in a healthy way. Being mom to Hailey and Harvey and finding little pieces of normal life again has been so grounding for me.”
Katie wrote that she wasn’t sure how much of her healing process she would be sharing publicly.

Travis has not posted to his social media accounts since he admitted to having the affair.
Travis and Katie have been married since December 2021. They met when Travis sent Katie a private message on Instagram, and their courtship was featured on ‘Bringing Up Bates.’ The couple— who is part of the IBLP fundamental religious cult— purchased a home in Tennessee in January 2025, and Travis has been attending nursing school. One month before Travis revealed his affair, Katie gushed about Travis and their relationship in honor of their fourth wedding anniversary.
“Forever grateful that God allowed our paths to cross,” she wrote on Instagram in December. “From the day I met you, my whole world shifted. These past four years of marriage have truly felt like a dream. You’ve made me stronger, better, and braver, and I’m so thankful I get to walk through life with you. I love you, always. Happy Anniversary @travis.clark”
It is currently unknown where the couple stands in terms of their marriage.
