Bryan Hodgson’s wife stole the March Madness spotlight with Providence comment
New Providence men’s basketball coach Bryan Hodgson walked to the podium Tuesday to talk about rebuilding a program in Rhode Island.
Coaches usually talk about restoring pride and drawing the map of the future of a hoops program. Instead, Hodgson turned his introductory news conference into something far more human … and far more viral.
“If you ever wanna question my recruiting abilities,” Hodgson said with a grin. “just look at my wife, Jordan.”
Just like that, the 38-year-old New York native, already on his third head coaching stop in as many years— announced himself not with X’s and O’s, but with personality. Bold. Slightly reckless. But entirely unforgettable.
Hodgson arrives in Providence on a five-year deal after leading South Florida to an NCAA Tournament appearance in his lone season, a résumé built on relentless recruiting. But Tuesday wasn’t about his system. It was about his beautiful wife, Jordan Norris, and how Hodgson married up.
Norris, a Buffalo native, Alabama graduate and mother to the couple’s son, Jett, was sitting front row for the news conference and audibly laughed at her husband’s comments.

College basketball has seen this before — Andy Enfield’s rise alongside his former model wife Amanda Marcum comes to mind.
Let’s hope Hodgson’s recruiting skills really are as good as good as he says they are.
