Chappell Roan and the Killers have been enlisted to join the roster of stars helping induct the new members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in a Nov. 8 ceremony in Los Angeles.
The Hall does not announce ahead of time which guests will be paying homage to which honorees, or whether they will be serving as performers or presenters. That ups the ante on suspense over who as big a star of the moment as Roan might be saluting, as fans match up their ideal pairings.
These two join a long list list of presenters and performers already announced for the show. Beck, Brandi Carlile, David Letterman, Doja Cat, Elton John, Flea, Iggy Pop, J.I.D, Killer Mike, Maxwell, Missy Elliott, Olivia Rodrigo, Questlove, Raye, Sleepy Brown, Taylor Momsen, Teddy Swims and Twenty One Pilots are the 18 guests previously revealed as taking part in the live ceremony and telecast.
The Rock Hall’s 40th annual induction ceremony takes place at the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. It will air live in all U.S. time zones on Disney+ starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT. A condensed version of the show will air as a prime-time special on ABC on Jan. 1 and go up for viewing the following day on Hulu.
Looking at who either Roan or the Killers might be paying homage to in speech or song, this year’s inductees are Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden and the White Stripes, as the elected entrants into the hall. They are joined by the honorees in the committee-selected categories: Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon for Musical Influence, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye for Musical Excellence, and Lenny Waronker for the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
