Chappell Roan Responds to Grammys Red Carpet Dress Criticism
Chappell Roan has responded to the online discourse about her risqué 2026 Grammys red carpet outfit. On Sunday night, last year’s Best New Artist winner stepped out in a sheer, hooded Mugler gown, which was unfurled to reveal a maroon dress that appeared to be held up by a pair of nipple rings.
“Giggling because I don’t even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit,” she wrote on Instagram. “The look’s actually so awesome and weird. I recommend just exercising your free will it’s really fun and silly :D”
During the ceremony itself, Roan presented the Best New Artist award to the winner, Olivia Dean. Her single, “The Subway,” was up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, but didn’t come away with a win.
