Craig Melvin had a major flub on the Today show on Wednesday, April 8. The co-hosts were discussing the highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, when the co-anchor, 46, let slip that Jenna Bush Hager was making a cameo in the film.
“By the way, you know how that movie’s going to be good?” Melvin asked. “You know how I can tell? JBH is in it!”
The camera then cut to a shocked Bush Hager, 44, whose mouth was hanging open at Melvin’s impromptu announcement.

“I don’t know that you were supposed to drop that bomb, but if you’re…” Bush Hager began, shocked.
Savannah Guthrie, who returned to the show earlier this week after an extended absence, joked, “This is live. You cannot tell Craig anything!”
Melvin insisted, “I thought it was common knowledge?” to which weatherman Al Roker quipped, “It is now!”

Melvin continued to look shocked, suggesting, “Cut it out for the other feeds! Sorry about that JBH,” and Guthrie, 54, went on to joke, “Why don’t you read your journal while you’re at it?”
When asked if there was anything else he wanted to reveal, Melvin simply replied, “My bad!”
It’s unknown what role Bush Hager will have in the film, which stars Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling.

Bush Hager memorably dressed up as former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour opposite Guthrie’s Miranda Priestly for the Today show’s Halloween episode in 2025. Wintour is the known inspiration behind the character of Miranda.
In fact, Streep and Wintour appeared together on the cover of Vogue’s May issue to promote the upcoming fashion film.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters May 1.
