Damian Lillard Wins 2026 NBA 3-Point Contest Over Devin Booker, Amazes Fans After Return from Injury
Damian Lillard captured the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest on Night 2 of NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
The Portland Trail Blazers guard outlasted Devin Booker and Kon Knueppel to become just the third player to win the event three times, adding the 2026 title to his victories in 2023 and 2024.
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro claimed last year’s crown, defeating Buddy Hield and Darius Garland in the final round with a score of 24 to deny Lillard a three-peat.
This time, however, Lillard finished the job.
Fans reacted to Lillard’s win in his return to the court from injury.
Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel set the tone, going first and scoring 27 points to apply early pressure. Donovan Mitchell followed with a strong 24.
Jamal Murray managed just 18 and was eliminated after Norman Powell caught fire for 23 to advance. Bobby Portis (15) and Tyrese Maxey (17) were also knocked out, each needing at least 23 to move on.
Devin Booker then delivered a statement round, knocking out Powell with a 30-point performance and reminding the field why he won the contest in 2018.
Lillard, who has not played this season while rehabbing a torn Achilles suffered in April 2025, closed the first round by eliminating Mitchell with a 27-point showing as he chases his third title.
Knueppel opened the second round with a lackluster 17 points, which was not enough against veteran 3-point contest champions Lillard and Booker.
Lillard caught fire with 29 points, applying pressure to Booker, who entered his final money rack, knocking down two to reach 27 but missed his final three shots.
