The Daytime Emmys celebrate the best and brightest of daytime television, and the 52nd annual event crowned this year’s standout hosts, actors, and shows across talk, drama, and lifestyle categories.

Mario Lopez hosted the show and will put a new spin on the Daytime Emmys by premiering clips from the ceremony on Access Hollywood on October 20. Since this year’s awards show doesn’t have a broadcast partner, Access Hollywood aired segments dedicated to the show the week of October 13.

General Hospital won the top award of the night for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. The long-running soap dominated the night with seven wins. Outstanding Leads in a Daytime Drama Series went to Paul Telfer for Days of Our Lives and Nancy Lee Grahn for her work on General Hospital.

Other notable wins include Sir David Attenborough for Outstanding Daytime Personality (Non-Daily) for Netflix’s Secret Lives of Orangutans; Drew Barrymore for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host for her talk show (but was not there to accept the award); and Lisa Yamada, who was the inaugural winner in the new category Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series for her work in The Bold and the Beautiful.

The show paid homage to the iconic soap Days of Our Lives and its 60 years of storytelling. The beloved residents of Salem assembled onstage and took a bow, celebrating decades of drama, romance, and twists that have captivated audiences for generations.
