Donald was born on March 2, 1943 in Malone to the late Orin R.A. and Bernice (Learned) Warner. He attended Malone Central School and, on June 28, 1962, married the love of his life, Carol A. LaPage at Our Lady of Fatima in Westville. Together they built a life centered on hard work, family, and community. Carol predeceased him on March 05, 2024, and he missed her dearly.
Donald worked for 30 years as a concrete truck driver for Malone Concrete and Ready Mix and later helped Arnold’s Ready Mix get established. He also worked for Collin’s Feed and also contributed to the local windmill project. He and Carol proudly owned and operated Warner’s Family Corner Stand at the Franklin County Fair for many years where they enjoyed seeing friends and neighbors.
An active and hardworking man, Donald loved cutting wood, going fishing, playing pool with his own pool stick every Friday night at the Moose Lodge. As a member of the Franklin County Trial Riders, he especially enjoyed trail rides. Above all, he treasured time with his grandchildren, sharing his love for horses, working with his pulling ponies, and taking the grandkids to local horse shows.
Donald is survived by his children; Donnie J. Warner, Kevin (Melissa) Warner, Susan (Wayne) Recore, and Cory Warner all of Malone, eleven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his siblings; James (Melody) Warner, Paul (Sandy) Warner, Shirley (Paul) Williams, and Annette Hosler, along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his devoted wife Carol, his siblings; Harold, Thomas, John and Karen Rivers.
