2nd update. Latest rumors here are that Trump put a $15 Million reward/hit out on this cartel head because he needed to distract from the bad news this week and pushed for it to happen right away. The federales carried out the raid for the money. Canada has closed travel here til Tuesday out of caution there might be reprisals. There’s not a zero chance of that. Local schools are closed tomorrow. Everyone else is happily going about their lives and business. P.S. There has yet to be a legal observer executed on the street or shot in the face for trying to turn around. That’s what happens in America. Down here, I’m enjoying the local music and food without fear of an ICE raid.
Update: I’m walking down a street in PV where everyone is going about their business. They’re talking about what happened, for sure, but there is no anxiety among the locals. I read some airlines turned some flights around, and Canada issued a travel warning. Caution is fine, but I’m certain right wing media is desperately searching for random stories to scare Americans into not talking about tariffs and Epstein. It’s ridiculous. It’s a smoke screen. It’s a red herring. Seriously, some stuff happened this morning. Nobody here cares.
I’m much more concerned about my safety from ICE goons and gun violence in the states than I am about Puerto Vallarta right now.

I’m an American on the ground in Puerto Vallarta. Yesterday, there was a raid on a timeshare complex being run by a cartel. The head of the cartel was killed. This morning, some cars and tires were set ablaze along a major thoroughfare, blocking traffic for about three hours. That’s it. I’m on the beach now, at 5:00 pm, listening to roosters crow and watching lots of tourists enjoy themselves in the surf. No police action. No violence. Just some property damage and a few discontented drivers who had to find alternate routes to their destinations. The rest is hype. Trump and goons are looking for an excuse to create panic and start a war someplace, anyplace really, to distract from the Epstein files and SCOTUS slapdown. Don’t believe them. Everything is fine here. Now back to your regularly scheduled dystopian post- America miasma.
